Jaw Crusher


Jaw Crusher is mainly used to crush various mineral stones and bulk materials to medium size and its compressive strength is no more than 320MPa. There are two types: coarse crushing and fine crushing. The PE jaw crusher has a complete range of specifications, the feeding size is between 150mm and 1020mm. It is the ideal equipment for primary crushing. Jaw crusher is widely used in mine, metallurgy, the building, road and railroad construction, hydraulic construction, chemical industry, fire-proofing material and ceramics.

Working Principle

The main structure of jaw crusher is crusher frame, eccentric shaft, driven wheel, movable jaw, side guard plate, toggle plate, draw rod, spring, fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate ect. Toggle plate is used to protect the crusher from damages.
The motor transmits power through belt, drives the moving jaw to do periodic motion towards the fixed jaw by the eccentric shaft. The angle between toggle plate and moving jaw plate increases when moving jaw moves. So the moving jaw moves towards the fixed jaw. The stuff will be crushed in this process. The angle between toggle plate and moving jaw decreases when moving jaw moves down, the moving jaw moves leaves fixed jaw by pulling rod and spring, the final crushed stuff will be discharged from the outlet.

Production Process

1.Jaw Crusher is mainly composed by the following parts: the fixed body, the rotator, the protecting device, the adjusting device.The fixed body: the main components of fixed body are frame which is processed by two ways: casting and welding. Welding the frame means that some reinforcement ribs are added on the basic of the original casting frame and it can reach the same using effect of the casting frame. In order to prevent the side wall of the frame from wearing heavily, the guard plates, easily replaced, are added on the left and right sides of the crushing chamber.
2.The rotate body: it’s mainly composed by moveable jaw, eccentric shaft, bearing, flywheel and so on. These are the main parts to transmission and tolerance.
  • 2.1 The moveable jaw is composed by movable jaw bracket and movable jaw plate. And the movable jaw bracket is made by 35# casting steel after quenching.
  • 2.2 The eccentric shaft is made by 45# steel after quenching.
  • 2.3 The bearing is made by double row radial spherical roller bearings which have some features such as fine adjustment, large tolerance.
  • 2.4 The jaw plate has two kinds: movable jaw plate and fixed jaw plate. In order to improve the crushing capacity, the surface of the jaw plate uses the tooth shape and the material is ZGMn13.
3.The adjusting device: it’s used to adjust the discharge opening size and control the output size.

(1)Operation Notes

  1. Examine the lube condition of the bearing to ensure it’s good and make sure that there is enough grease in the junction of the bearing bracket.
  2. Check all fastener to ensure that they are fully tighten.
  3. The protecting device should be good and upon found the unsafe phenomenon operator should resolute it.
  4. Check whether there are ores or other debris in the crushing cavity and operator should resolute it upon found the ore.

(2) The starting of Jaw Crusher

  1. Before starting the machine, please ensure that the machine and the transmission part are good.
  2. The machine can be only started in no load condition.
  3. After starting the machine, upon found the abnormal condition, the operator should stop the machine and find the reason then solve the problem.

(3) The maintenance and the use

  1. Feed the ore after the machine is working normally.
  2. The ore should be feed uniformly and it had better avoid the side feeding.
  3. The temperature of the bearing shouldn’t rise 30℃ and should be kept within 70℃, if not, should find the reason and solve it.
  4. Before stopping the machine, the operator should stop the feeder and the ore should be discharged totally.
  5. When working, the machine stops caused by the blocking materials and now should shut off the motor. After the blocking materials are discharged, the machine can be started again.
  6. One end of the jaw plate swear, the other end can be used.

(4) The lube system of Jaw Crusher

  1. Keep a good lube condition of the friction surface to ensure the machine work normally and extend the use life.
  2. In normal the machine use the grease as the lubrication and according to the using location and the temperature, the calcium based grease, the sodium based grease or the calcium and sodium based grease can be choosen.
  3. The grease should be the 40-70% of the bearing housings and should be changed every three months. And when changing, the bearing and the bearing housings should be cleaned by the clean gas.
  4. The connector of the toggle plate and the toggle plate gasket should add the grease before starting the machine.

The Maintenance

  1. To ensure the machine work normally, the right operating ways and the routine maintenance are necessary. Generally there are there kinds of maintenance:Light maintenance: it mainly includes the following items: examine and repair the adjusting device, adjust the discharge opening, change the wear parts, examine the transmission part and lube system. The period of the light maintenance is about 1-3 months.
  2. Medium maintenance: except the working of the light maintenance, it also includes changing the toggle plate and examining and repairing the bearing bushing ect. The period of the medium maintenance is about 1-2 years.
  3. Heavy maintenance: except the working of the medium maintenance, it also includes the following items: change the eccentric shaft, cast the Babbitt, change the wear part. The period is about 5 years.
